Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is still waiting for his stretched nerves to grow back to normal two years after a car crash fractured his shoulder blade - so he can fly his plane and sail his boat again.

The actor has been disabled since the accident, and has learned he'll have to wait another year until his nerves allow him to be fully functioning once more.

The Driving Miss Daisy star tells Penthouse magazine, "The doctor said stretched nerves are the hardest to heal. If they had been severed, they'd grow back together much shorter time. The nerves grow back at a rate of one inch a month.

"Since I've got long arms, I've got another year for my nerves to reconnect.

"My life has changed because I'm basically one-handed. I can't fly my plane, sail my boat."

But Freeman's nerve damage hasn't kept him off the golf course: "I tried playing golf and discovered I'm just as good playing with one hand as I am playing with two."
