Actor-turned-playwright NICK MORAN has vowed never to write another play despite his first show TELSTAR receiving rave reviews on its debut in London's West End - because the theatre industry is full of crooks. The LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS star hated organising his acclaimed stage creation and is now concentrating solely on his acting career after suffering financial difficulties when his acclaimed West End stage show struggled to attract audiences. He says, "Would I write another play? Not after this one. It's been a nightmare. The West End stinks."You end up meeting some of the most crooked people I've ever met. "It's a rotten industry, so no, I won't be writing another play for a very long time."The star also admits that he is thrilled with the way fame altered his life - because now he knows who his real friends are.The actor/writer is the first to admit the GUY RITCHIE movie changed him, but he is grateful to his celebrity for finally showing him who his true supporters are.

"Suddenly I was being invited to things and I got absorbed by a machine, really, this world of PR and glitz.

"The people around me changed. Friends became resentful and bitter. I could judge who were my real pals - and who weren't."

MORAN is frustrated he is best known for possessing an arrogant streak. He is convinced most people only think of him as an egocentric.

The 35-year-old says, "I've always been a bit of a big-head. "I made exactly the same crude and cocky comments after Lock Stock as I did before it came out. "It was just this time people were listening."You can be acquiescent and charming to a thousand people, but be rude to just one and that's all anyone hears."
