Nicole Richie Wins Top Award At Fashion Event

Nicole Richie sealed her status as a style icon after she was named Influencer of the Year by the Accessories Council on Monday (07Nov11).

The socialite accepted the prestigious prize at the Accessories CouncilExcellence (Ace) Awards in New York City.

Richie was picked for the honour in recognition of her personal style and influence on fashion through her label, House of Harlow 1960.

Speaking about her line, she tells Women's Wear Daily, "To me, success isn't measured by dollar signs.

"It's really about paying attention to feedback and talking to my customer and I'm able to do that with the various appearances I do - and also through Twitter and Facebook.

"I'm really able to get some honest feedback from my customer, and I really try and focus on them and create what they're expecting of me".

Richie designs clothing as well as handbags, shoes, sunglasses and jewellery for her label.
