Discussions are already underway as to who will take over guardianship of Michael Jackson's three children if his mother was to die before they become adults.
The pop superstar, who died in June (09), left instructions that Katherine Jackson should be awarded guardianship of Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II in his will - but suggested his friend Diana Ross should take over if his mother died.
Court officials agreed to give Katherine, 79, custody in July (09) - but it's still not clear who will take over if she falls ill or passes away.
La Toya Jackson has revealed Ross has had discussions with her mother, but the children don't know the soul star - and have no idea she's "second in line to take over guardianship".
La Toya revealed her mother has made it clear she'll decide who plays 'mum' to her grandchildren if she can no longer take care of themLa Toya Jackson
Speaking on U.S. TV news show 20/20 on Friday (11Sep09), La Toya revealed her mother has made it clear she'll decide who plays 'mum' to her grandchildren if she can no longer take care of them.
She said, "I think my mother will discuss that and make that decision."
But she's sure the two eldest kids' birth mother - her former sister-in-law Debbie Rowe - will not be among those considered.
She stated, "They (kids) know who Debbie Rowe is. Whether or not they know she's their mother I'm not so sure.
"They haven't seen her since he (Michael) passed, but they're more than welcome to, of course."
La Toya would prefer her sister Rebbie to take over guardian responsibilities if her mother was to die.
She explained, "Rebbie has three adult children. Actually, Rebbie's a grandmother... She's done a wonderful job with her children."
