Prince Charles and his wife Camilla are unharmed after their car was attacked by angry students in central London on Thursday (09Dec10) during a protest against a huge rise in tuition fees.
The heir-to-the-throne and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were being chauffeured to the city's Palladium Theatre to attend the annual Royal Variety Performance when they found themselves targeted by the unrulydemonstrators.
Protesters kicked at the couple's black Rolls Royce and the vehicle suffered a cracked window in the incident, while the body of the car was splattered with paint.
The Prince and the Duchess were not injured in the attack and appeared calm and collected upon their arrival at the charity concert, where they greeted the night's performers, including Kylie Minogue and boyband Take That.
Demonstrators clashed with riot police outside the British Parliament on Thursday after lawmakers approved controversial plans to triple the cost of university tuition fees in England, capping it at $13,500 (£9,000) a year.
