Radiohead singer Thom Yorke has branded the band's greatest hits album as "pointless".
The collection is being brought out by Radiohead's former record label, EMI, and the singer can't understand why it is being released.
He said: "We haven't really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose? There's nothing we can do about it. The work is really public property now anyway, in my head at least. It's a wasted opportunity in that if we'd behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good."
Radiohead's contract with EMI ended last year.
The band released their last album, 'In Rainbows', as a download-only where fans could choose how much they wanted to pay for it. It was then released as a physical album by XL Recordings, who also released Thom's solo album, 'The Eraser'.
'Radiohead Best Of' is will also be available as a DVD containing 20 music videos - including nine as yet unseen clips. It will be released on June 2.
