Rhys Ifans suffered seasickness while making his new movie.
The actor spent much of 'The Boat That Rocked' filming on a moored vessel, but filmmaker Richard Curtis admits the journey to the set caused problems for some of the cast.
He said: "Most of the scenes on the boat were shot near the harbour at Weymouth, which was chosen for its calmness. The only people who got seasick were the actors who appeared arriving on board from little boats. Emma Thompson was very sick, as was Rhys Ifans."
I'd written a few funny scenes about the disc-jockeys doing phone-ins and about halfway through writing I realised that of course there wouldn't have been any phone-ins. The listeners just wrote letters.
The movie follows a group of 1960s pirate radio DJs and their battle against being closed down, and Richard admits he was forced to rewrite some scenes because of inaccuracies.
He explained: "I'd written a few funny scenes about the disc-jockeys doing phone-ins and about halfway through writing I realised that of course there wouldn't have been any phone-ins. The listeners just wrote letters."
