Meyers to 'Appear in Court' Following Drunken Outburst

Jonathan Rhys Meyers will appear in a Parisian court in September (09) toface accusations he punched a waiter during a drunken rant at a French airport.

The Tudors actor was handcuffed by officers at Charles DeGaulle airportin Paris, France on Saturday (20Jun09) after he allegedly hit the man and challenged police to a brawl.

According to French news sources, Meyers will have to attend a court hearing on charges of willful violence, outrage, hitting and threatening death

The star allegedly threw wads of euros at the officials and bragged of his wealth, before shouting, "You wanna hit me? Hit me!" He was later released from custody after several hours detention in a Paris police station.

The star, who has struggled with drink problems for several years, was arrested and charged in a similar airport fracas in Dublin, Ireland in 2007.

All charges were later dropped.
