Robert Downey Jr In Talks For The Days Before

Robert Downey Jr and Reese Witherspoon are rumoured to be in talks to star in science fiction film The Days Before.

According to Production Weekly the film will follow a group of aliens who travel back in time to invade Earth and destroy the human race.

Downey Jr will play the man one step ahead for their plan and Timur Bekmambetov, who shot to fame with his Nightwatch series of movies, has been approached to direct the movie.

Since his big budget return in Iron Man last year Downey Jr has been inundated with work as the superhero film grossed over $100 million in the opening weekend.

A sequel to the film is currently in production that will see the Oscar nominated star reprise his role as billionaire Tony Stark.

2009 is a busy year for an actor with the release of The Soloist with Jamie Foxx and Guy Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes.

Downey Jr is in the lead role as Conan Doyle's legendary sleuth alongside Jude Law who takes on the role of Watson.
