Robert Pattinson has found a way to fulfil his musical ambitions without compromising his integrity - he's planning to release an anonymous album.

The Brit has long spoken of his desire to launch a music career, but admits he doesn't want to be seen as an actor-turned-pop star.

Pattinson, who recorded two songs for the Twilight soundtrack, is adamant he will never use his fame from the vampire movies to bolster a music career - so he's planning to release a secret CD.

Before I was famous I would have loved to perform in bars and pubs

He tells French magazine Paris Match, "I write songs, that's true. I'llrecord a few tracks as soon as I finish the promotion for the movies, but before I won't do anything. I don't want to release an album which has a sticker on it saying 'By the vampire of Twilight' on it.

"If the record is released one day there won't be my name or my pictureon the cover. Everyone would be biased. No one would listen to it. Before I was famous I would have loved to perform in bars and pubs. But this isn't possible anymore".

Robert Pattinson has compared himself and his Twilight co-stars to the Beatles - insisting the teenage hysteria around the movie series is similar to the frenzied music fans of the 1960s.

The British band attracted hordes of dedicated devotees, and the intense fervour around the group became known as Beatlemania.

Pattinson is adamant he has been subjected to the same kind of erratic behaviour from the screaming fans who follow his every move.

He says, "I don’t know how the Beatles felt but I imagine it was close to this. Very few human beings will ever get to experience the love we feel at Twilight events."
