Pike's Fan Date After Friend Confusion

British actress Rosamund Pike once went out for lunch with a fan by accident after mistaking him for a pal.

The blonde beauty was walking through London after the release of her first major role in Bond movie Die Another Day when a man pulled his car over and shouted out an invite for lunch.

A hungover Pike presumed she knew the man and had just forgotten his name - but it was only later that she realised he was a fan of her film performance rather than a friend.

She tells Britain's Style magazine, "(I was walking down the road and someone shouted) 'Rosamund!' I was sure I knew him so I went over, feelinga bit hungover, and he said, 'We're going for lunch,come with us.' I felt really guilty for not remembering his name and so I got into the car. "It was only when I was in the back of this Porsche that I realised notonly did I not remember his name, but I'd never met him before in my life.

I thought I'd front it out and see if there is such a thing as a free lunch.

It turns out there is, but I did go to the loo (toilet) before pudding (dessert) and walked out".
