Russell Brand Good Influence On Katy Perry

Katy Perry is convinced her fiance Russell Brand has been a good influence on her lifestyle - because the former wildman's sobriety has guided her "in a more positive direction".

The British comedian, who proposed to Perry on New Year's Eve (31Dec09) after a whirlwind romance, quit drugs and alcohol in 2003 after several run-ins with the police.

The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker admits she still enjoys a glass of wine on a night out - but she's become much more tamed in her own wild ways since settling down with Brand.

She tells Britain's Glamour magazine, "I still love to go out with my friends and I still like Pinot Grigio.

"But I've learnt from some of my hangovers and I don't drink as much as I used to.

"My last big night out was (California music festival) Coachella. I'm happy that Russell is sober because it's had a good influence on me. It steers me in a more positive direction."
