American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has won a permanent restraining order against a man accused of harassing him.
Chidi Uzomah, a special forces reserve for the U.S. Army, was charged earlier this month (02Nov09) with a felony count of stalking and two misdemeanour counts of violating a court order after he was found wielding a knife at Seacrest's Los Angeles office last month.
The 25 year old pleaded not guilty to stalking the U.S. TV personality at a hearing on 3 November (09).
A California judge subsequently awarded Seacrest a temporary protectiveorder against Uzomah, banning him from going within 500 yards (457.2 metres) from the American Idol host.
The order was made permanent on Tuesday (17Nov09), and orders Uzomah tostay 100 yards (91.4 metres) away from Seacrest for three years.
He is also banned from having any direct or indirect contact with the star.
Uzomah previously pleaded guilty in September (09) to attacking the TV host's security guard during a visit to a hospital.
Seacrest was not present at the hearing.
