A cameraman has dropped his case against Sacha Baron Cohen over an alleged attack at a gay rights rally in 2008, because the legal wrangling has taken a toll on his "emotional well being".

Photographer Mike Skiff filed suit against the British funnyman last month (Oct10), claiming he was injured in a scuffle at a rally in Los Angeles while Cohen was shooting scenes for his 2009 comedy Bruno.

He accused crew members of violently confronting him "with the threat of being clubbed with wooden signs" when he began to film the fracas and alleges he was shoved, pulled and wrestled to the ground.

But Skiff has decided to call off his legal action and filed a request for an official dismissal with the Los Angeles County Superior Court lastweek (ends-14Nov10).

Skiff's lawyer tells Tmz.com the matter "had become too difficult (for Skiff) to deal with".

Attorney Clifford Scherer adds, "Mike is satisfied with the statements he made, and satisfied that people were made aware of the situation".
