Sam Trammell is celebrating after his actress girlfriend gave birth to twins.
The actor, who plays Sam Merlotte in the hit vampire drama, is a first-time dad after his longterm partner Missy Yager delivered twin boys on Tuesday (09Aug11).
A source tells Life & Style magazine, "The couple is very happy that everything went smoothly."
They began dating eight years ago.
In other baby news is has been revealed illusionist David Copperfield secretly became a father to a baby girl last year (10).
The magician, 54, and his model girlfriend Chloe Gosselin welcomed little Sky 16 months ago, according to the New York Post's Page Six column.
The new family was spotted travelling together from their home in the Bahamas to New York and Las Vegas, where Copperfield is a regular performer, last month (Jul11).
Confirming the news, the star's rep says, "Forget vanishing the Statue of Liberty, David's next illusion will be the disappearing dirty diaper... a lot more practical."
Copperfield is said to have met French model Gosselin, 26, through a mutual friend two years ago.
