Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie turned out to pay tribute to Seve Ballesteros at his funeral in Spain on Wednesday (11May11).
The fact he stayed here is very special. He was the small-time boy who made it to the top of the hill
The Spanish sports icon died on Saturday (07May11), two-and-a-half years after doctors diagnosed him with two malignant brain tumours. He was 54.
Ballesteros' family and friends attended his memorial at a church in Pedrena, Spain, and they were joined by several of his sporting pals.
Faldo said, "There will never be another like Seve in the world of golf. He had the charisma, the looks, the walk, the swing, everything. I had to come today to pay my respects - here in the little village where he was just one of the locals.
