Shia LaBeouf's Dark movie

2 months ago 19th Sep 13:30

Shia LaBeouf is set to make a film with director Neil Burger.

The 'Transformers' star will take the lead in 'The Dark Fields', an adaptation of the 2002 novel by Alan Glynn.

'The Illusionist' director's latest is set in the near future, where a drug called MDT-48 makes the human brain function more efficiently.

Despite the theme, Neil insists it will not be a science fiction movie.

He explained: "It's more like, if there's viagra or steroids, why isn't there something that increases your synaptic connections and makes you think smarter and faster, but it's not without side effects and consequences."

Scriptwriter Leslie Dixon - who is currently penning the remake of 'The Birds' - is set to write the film.

Shooting begins in New York this winter.
