Sigourney Weaver Reunites With Gorillas.
SIGOURNEY WEAVER was stunned when she returned to Rwanda, where she filmed GORILLAS IN THE MIST, because the gorillas from the movie remembered who she was.
The actress was filming a documentary, GORILLA'S REVISITED, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film which chronicled with work of researcher DIAN FOSSEY.
Weaver spent five months with the primates while she was filming and developed a close emotional bond with the animals, many of whom were still there when she returned.
She explains, "I was surprised. I've been trying to get back there for so many years, but because of the civil war and the instability I haven't been able to.
"I really didn't know what to expect.
"I didn't want to assume that they would recognise me or I would recognise them.
