Simon Cowell finds 'American Idol' "mind-numbingly boring".
The 48-year-old music mogul admits he finds judging contestants on the US reality TV show so tedious he can't hide his true feelings.
He said: "It's a reality show. If you're bored you're bored. If you're not, you're not. I can't help it if I'm bored. Sometimes it's mind-numbingly boring, and it shows on my face."
Simon recently admitted that last year's 'American Idol' contest - won by 18-year-old Jordin Sparks - was lacking true star potential.
He said: "Last year wasn't one of our better seasons. You get that on all of these type of competition shows. You get great years, and then you get not-so-great years.
"We always say, we can't guarantee we will find a superstar. We will do our best, but we are at the mercy of who turns up at the auditions."
As well as judging 'American Idol', Simon is also involved in British TV talent shows 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent'.
