Skandar Kenyes was forbidden from auditioning for 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe'.The 16-year-old was 12 when he landed the role of Edmund Pevensie but admits his parents didn't want him to take the role.Skandar revealed: "My parents told my agent not to send me to the audition, because they heard it meant six months in New Zealand. But then they went to Japan for 10 days and my granddad was taking care of me?" His mother, Zelfa Hourani, explained their decision, saying: "The fact that we would have to be away for six months on the other side of the world would have meant dividing our family - my first reaction was that it was out of the question."My daughter persuaded us by saying Skandar would never forgive us for passing u0p the chance of being in the film."Skandar's co-star, 12-year-old Georgie Henley admits her parents "considered withdrawing" her from the audition because of the disruption it could have caused when the actress was just eight years old.She added: "The director had to have dinner with my mum and dad to persuade them."

I adore Skandar. He is a wonderful actor. He has so much on screen presence. He is a perfect Edmund. I hope he has a bigger role in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Skandar Keynes is a superb young actor. I saw Prince Caspian in LA and he steals the film from the rest of the cast. He could have done with a few more scenes. I'd love to see him as the Dr Who assistant.

I'm a big fan of Skandar's and hope he keeps acting for years to come. He could be a huge star - a young British Action hero and we have very few of those.

Skandar is the best of the 5 actors in Prince Caspian. He becomes the character of Edmund. You only have eyes for him when he's on screen. He's HOT too.

Skandar is mega talented and gorgeous. He could be a huge movie star. He can do comedy brilliantly too.

Adored Skandar's performances in both Narnia films. I thought he'd have a long and distinguished career. He has a great deal of screen presence and is a very charming and dynamic young actor.

Skandar is the best young actor working in the UK. I wish he himself realised how good he is. I'm talking Christian Bale standard in time.

Saw Skandar at the 02 premiere. He's gorgeous, very talented and I cant wait to see him in other film roles. He's a million times better than Freddie Highmore, and Thomas Sangster and much more handsome too.

Skandar could be a major movie star. He's got so much screen presence and looks to die for. I think he's amazing.
He could be the UK's answer to Matt Damon in the future if he wanted it enough.

I'm an aspiring actress just like Keynes ( younger by a few months) and my parents would have done the same.
But he grew up to be so hot ! Hope I bump into him soon :)
