Tom Cruise has told reality TV star Spencer Pratt he made a mistake by eloping with new bride Heidi Montag.

The Hills co-stars jetted off to Mexico last month (Nov08) to tie the knot in secret, despite Montag's previously expressing her desire for a big family ceremony.

And Cruise is convinced Pratt has made a mistake that will come back to haunt him.

When asked to offer advice to the newlyweds, Cruise told Mtv, "If the girl wants the wedding, you gotta do the wedding. It's a special occasion, and she'll remember it forever. Spencer, dude... you'll realise this later".
