Star Trek's George Takei 'eaten alive' by bedbugs

Actor George Takei was recently forced to call in exterminators after his apartment in New York became infested with bedbugs.

The former Star Trek star said that he and his partner, Brian Altman were 'eaten alive' by the parasites earlier in the month and so the couple were forced to seek professional help.

He told radio DJ Howard Stern: "We were (in New York) last month and nothing happened, and then this month, I've been eaten alive."

Takei is convinced he picked up the bugs on a theatre trip: "Brad and I go to the theatre a lot, and I think they must have been in the seats. There's no other way we could have gotten them."
