Stephen Fry battled through a stomach bug and a fever to perform in a London production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on Tuesday (20Nov12).

The funnyman plays Malvolio in the classic comedy, but he spent the day feeling unwell and left the Apollo Theater as soon as the play ended.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Wonderful audience tonight I've had a tummy bug and fever so slipped away early - apols (apologies) to stage door ppl (people). But thank you Dr Theater".

Returning to the site on Wednesday morning (22Nov12), Fry assured fans he was feeling better after a good night's sleep, adding, "Recovered from tummy bug thank goodness".
