Former STEREOPHONICS drummer STUART CABLE is close to reaching a financial settlement with his former bandmates following his 2003 sacking.
Frontman KELLY JONES and bassist RICHARD JONES parted company with their childhood friend, citing "commitment" and "attitude issues" - and the two camps quickly descended into a war of words.
Sources suggest Cable could be about to receive a payment in the region of $1.8 million (£1 million) - but due to legal restraints he remains tight-lipped over the details of the deal.
He says, "We've finally come to some sort of arrangement, but it's still all in the hands of the lawyers at the moment. There's a lot of paperwork to go through, so I can't really say anymore."
Cable is moving on from the Stereophonics musically too - he's in the midst of forming his own rock band with a far heavier approach than the DAKOTA hitmakers.
