Funnyman Steve Carell's stalled movie DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS is due to beginshooting this autumn (09) after a dispute between movie executives at DreamWorks and Paramount was settled.

The comedy has been held in limbo since Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks ended its partnership with Hollywood giant Paramount in 2008.

Financing issues have been at the centre of the row, but now Paramount heads have enlisted Spyglass Entertainment bosses to provide monetary backing, while DreamWorks have yet to announce a backer for its stake in thefilm.

Actor Paul Rudd will join Carell in the movie - a remake of French comedy Le Diner des cons, about a man who manages to ruin the life of those around him.

Sacha Baron Cohen, who was also due to star, pulled out of theproject last year (08), reports Daily Variety.
