Steven Spielberg: 'Crystal Skull Deepened Friendship With Ford'....Legendary director Steven Spielberg credits shooting on the new Indiana Jones movie with bringing him closer than ever to Harrison Ford, after the pair had hardly talked on previous projects. The moviemaker first met Ford when he was cast in the lead role for 1982 movie Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark and they subsequently worked on two more films featuring the popular character. But despite working on three movies together, Spielberg insists he was never close to Ford until they started work on the latest installment - the forthcoming Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull - 17 years after 1989's Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade.
He tells British magazine Empire, "We've gone off and made other movies which means our paths have not crossed all that often. I'm not the most social guy in the world and neither is Harrison, so we didn't spend much time together, but we actually became great buddies on this movie.More even than on the first three. It's the best thing that came out of this experience for me."Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is released on 22 May
