The Darkness Deny Label Axe.

23-08-2006 06:01

The Darkness Deny Label Axe.... Flamboyant rockers The Darkness have blasted reports they've been dropped by their record label, despite confirming frontman Justin Hawkins has entered rehab for substance abuse.

The singer checked himself into London clinic The Priory earlier this month (12Aug06) sparking frenzied speculation the band would be axed by Atlantic records.

However, representatives for the British group retort, "We would however like to make it clear that this emphatically does not signal the end for The Darkness nor are their label Atlantic Records considering 'dropping' them.

"On the contrary, they have taken up their option with the band and are looking forward to releasing the Darkness' third album in early 2007."

The group's second album One Way Ticket To Hell... And Back was critically panned and failed to make an impact in the charts on its release last year (05).
