Actress Tara Reid has confirmed she is engaged to businessman boyfriend Michael Axtmann - after the internet entrepreneur proposed during a night out in Los Angeles on Monday (18Jan10).

The American Pie star has been dating Axtmann since early last year (09), and the couple has been dogged by rumours they are preparing to make their union official.

And now the 34-year-old actress has revealed the reports are true - she's looking forward to marriage after her lover popped the question duringdinner at L.A. restaurant The Little Door.

A representative for Reid confirmed the happy news to People.com, saying, "Michael surprised Tara with a beautiful round brilliant cut ring. Tara was so happy, and the other patrons clapped and yelled out, E28098Congratulations.' The website reports the couple is planning a small summer wedding (10).
