Swayze's the Beast to Be Dropped?

Patrick Swayze's acting career has been dealt a heavy blow - his TV show The Beast is reportedly facing the axe after just one season.

The star pressed ahead with filming the first series of the cop show last year (08) despite battling pancreatic cancer, and he was said to be ingood spirits while training for the second outing of the programme in March (09).

But online reports suggest Swayze will not be returning to the small screen as rogue FBI officer Charles Barker - because the show is on the verge of being dropped by A&E network executives.

However, a spokesperson for A&E tells industry paper Daily Variety an official decision has yet to be made.

Swayze was diagnosed with the fatal disease in early 2008 and was recently forced to deny rumours he was on his death bed.
