The Goonies To Get Animation Treatment

A follow up to 1980s family classic THE GOONIES is in the works - and it will be animated.

The cult adventure film starred Sean Astin, Corey Feldman and Josh Brolin and while a sequel to the 1985 movie has often been mooted it's the first time an animated version has been planned.

Feldman says, "Right now they are talking about the idea of doing it as an animated series."

The Goonies, which was released in 1985, and has become a children's cinema classic and launched the career of Sean Astin, who went on to star in The Lord of the Rings.

The film is about a band of young friends who go on an adventure to find buried treasure and 17th century one-eyed Willie in a bid to save their homes.
