Tintin is expected to hit cinema screens in 2011.
Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures have finally scheduled the release of The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn for before Christmas in America.
Oscar winners Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have joined forces to bring the cartoon character to the big screen with Spielberg directing the first movie.
Jackson was expected to direct the second in what was to be a trilogy of movies however back in March it was revealed that future Tintin movies were yet to get the green light.
After thirty two days on set Spielberg has now put The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn in the capable hands of the The Lord of the Rings filmmaker who will work on the movie's special effects for the next eighteen months at Weta in New Zealand.
British actor Jaime Bell will take on the role as the famous young reporter Tintin and will be joined by Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
