Report - Maguire's Mum Battling Alcoholism After Mental Breakdown....
Spider-Man Tobey Maguire's mum is undergoing treatment at the Utah rehab facility where Lindsay Lohan spent the summer (07) as she battles alcoholism.
Screenwriter and acting coach Wendy Maguire, 50, reportedly suffered a mental breakdown earlier this year (07) after a string of personal setbacks.
These included the discovery that her boyfriend had cheated on her during a trip to Thailand.
The revelation led to her investigating human trafficking and sex slavery in Asia, and she planned to script a documentary about the illegal trade.
But friends fear the investigation took its toll on Maguire, leaving her in "really bad shape".
According to U.S. tabloid the National Enquirer, Wendy entered the University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute in early September (07) at her son Tobey's insistence.
She then checked into the Cirque Lodge rehab facility, where Lohan and rocker Richie Sambora were receiving treatment, but she quit her course after two weeks and returned to the hospital for detox.
