Toni Collette and P.J. Hogan Reunite After 17 Years

Toni Collette is set to reunite with the director that made her a star after last working with him 17 years ago.

P.J. Hogan directed 1994 comedy Muriel’s Wedding in which Collette stared as Muriel Helsop.

Her role launched her into the bigtime Hollywood career that saw her go on to star in films such as In Her Shoes with Cameron Diaz and Little Miss Sunshine.

Hogan also found success after the project and went on to direct films such as My Best Friend’s Wedding and Confessions of a Shopaholic.

The pair will now reunite for Hogan’s first Australian film since Muriel’s Wedding, entitled Mental.

The movie will centre around the Moochmore family, a local politician and his five children. It is set to start shooting later this year.
