Too Old Simpson Dropped From 'Dukes' Sequel

Jessica Simpson has been dropped from the ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ prequel - because she’s too old.

Producers of the hit film have snubbed blonde Jessica and instead handed the hot-pant clad part of Daisy Duke to younger-looking former glamour model April Scott, according to America’s New York Post newspaper.

Before making the casting decision, movie bosses were reportedly considering blonde ‘Laguna Beach’ star Kristin Cavallari - who is rumoured to have dated Jessica’s estranged husband Nick Lachey since their split - for the part of the younger Daisy.

Producer Bill Gerber said at the time: "I like her innocence and her beauty, she is at the top of my list.

The new movie is to be a straight-to-DVD release, despite the first film being well received by audiences.
