Redgrave: 'affairs Haven't Affected My Relationship'....

Vanessa Redgrave is amazed her union with partner Franco Nero has lasted more than 40 years - because she has had extracurricular flings with other men.The couple, who have a 38-year-old son, Carlo, have never legally tied the knot and instead chose to cement their commitment on New Year's Eve 2006 with an "unofficial" ceremony.But Redgrave, 71, admits there is a further reason her relationship with the Italian actor is unconventional - she has had a "few affairs on the side".

She says, "Franco said when somebody asked him: 'We've been married for 42 years.' So that's his version and I'm sticking to it."Franco's never lived in the same house. Never, never, never. He's an Italian; Italian's like to live in Italy and I couldn't transfer my life to Italy".
