Matt Sorum, drummer for Velvet Revolver, fears the end of the rock supergroup because he doesn't think he has the strength in him to start again in another band. The former The Cult and Guns N' Roses drummer admits he was scared when the tensions in Velvet Revolver reared up as the band started work on their second album Libertad - because he thought a split was imminent. He recalls, "We weren't getting along. There was moments when I didn't think the band was going to last, which is my greatest fear. I don't think I have another band in me."But then we looked at each other and we said, 'Let's not f**k this one up.'"Sorum admits he briefly worried Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland would leave the band and reform Stone Temple Pilots after reconciling his differences with former bandmates Robert and Dean DeLeo. He quickly realised that wasn't going to happen. The drummer tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I don't think the world's f**king biding their time, waiting for Stone Temple Pilots to reform." Rocker Slash has admitted that he was so hooked on painkillers during the band's tough recording sessions for their new album Libertad, he kept falling asleep in the studio.

While bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum were in rehab together and group tensions reached an all-time high following a difficult world tour, Slash tried to keep the supergroup together - but the pressure turned him onto drugs.

And he was so far gone at some points, he even contemplated joining McKagan and Sorum in rehab.

The guitarist tells Rolling Stone magazine, "There was a lot of negative s**t going on. Some of it was band stuff, some of it was home stuff... and I went on a little f**king OxyContin binge for, like, two or three months.

"I had set a date to go into rehab."
