William Shatner's New Star Trek Cameo Role....
Original Captain Kirk actor William Shatner has been lined up for a cameo role in the new Star Trek film.
The 76-year-old star will play a small part in the forthcoming sci-fi prequel which will follow the early adventures of the original Enterprise crew.
The 11th big screen installment of the legendary TV series will also feature a cameo appearance from Shatner's former co-star Leonard Nimoy who made famous the role of Mr Spock.
Other actors already signed up for the project include Chris Pine as Kirk, Heroes star Zachary Quinto as Spock and Simon Pegg as Scotty.
Meanwhile in other Star Trek news Lindsay Lohan's luck really has rubbed off on actor Chris Pine - he has landed the coveted role of the young Captain Kirk in director J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel.
Pine, who played opposite Lohan in 2006 fortune exchange movie Just My Luck, has been added to a cast that already includes Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Eric Bana and Heroes star Zachary Quinto.
Karl Urban is also a new addition - he'll play Dr. Leonard McCoy in the new film, according to sources at distributor Paramount.
