Hollywood bosses are hoping that William Shatner will make a cameo appearance in a future Star Trek movie.

A highly-anticipated prequel to 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis is due for a global release on 8 May (09).

But officials at Paramount Pictures are so sure the picture will be a hit, they have commissioned a script for a follow-up - and are reportedly keen to get Shatner, who starred as Captain James T. Kirk in the original 1960s show, to be in the movie.

It's well known Bill was disappointed not to get a cameo (in the 2009 film). But now Paramount Pictures has been given the go-ahead for a sequel and there are hopes he'll make a brief appearance.

The new big screen version of the iconic space series sees young actor Chris Pine take on Shatner's role.

Meanwhile in related news porn magazine Hustler is about to go beyond the final frontier by turning Star Trek into an X-rated movie.

The film, starring Evan Stone and Tony DeSergio - as Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock respectively - is set to go before the cameras next month (Apr09).

The project is the latest in Hustler's ongoing bid to turn classic U.S. TV shows into porn films.
