Woody Allen Congratulates Bardem & Cruz

Woody Allen has publicly congratulated Spanish superstars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz following the news of the actress' pregnancy, insisting they will make "great" parents.
 
The Oscar winners, who began dating in 2007, worked with Allen on 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona and he's happy the newlyweds are starting a family together.
 
He says, "I think it's great. I'm crazy about both of them - Javier and Penélope. And I'm sure they'll have a super baby, because their genes are award-winning."
 
And he's adamant the baby is blessed to have Bardem and Cruz as parents: "I think he'll be great as a father, and I think she'll be a great mother. She's a lovely person."
 
Bardem and Cruz wed in a low-key ceremony in the Bahamas in July (10) and confirmed this week (14Sep10) that the actress was four-and-a-half months pregnant.
