Wrestler Calls For Wwe Drug Action....Wrestling superstars are damaging their bodies and risking death by abusing powerful muscle relaxing drugs, according to former Wwe wrestler Terri Runnels. The female star was prompted to speak out after steroid-user Chris Benoit killed his wife and son and then himself.Runnels claims wrestlers have been abusing relaxant carisoprodol (of which Soma is a brand) for years - and she has watched stars almost die from overdosing on them. She tells Tmz.com, "The boys eat Somas like candy. I've personally seen a Wwe Superstar nearly die right in front of me after taking 13 Somas ... while still behind the wheel of his car! "If the wrestlers' addictions and mental health issues continue to be ignored, I'm afraid that I'll have more friends turning up dead - all because no one cares".World Wrestling Entertainment (Wwe) insists it carries out stringent drug testing procedures and that it condemns drug and steroid use. A statement reads, "For 20 years the Wwe has been doing something to address the issue of steroid and drug use. We cannot account for the poor personal decisions a small minority may make outside the workplace to undermine these efforts".
