Scrubs star Zach Braff is to quit the hit show after itâs next season is completed.
Wanting to pursue a career in directing, the 33 year old actor has been the star of the show since 2001, playing the lovable Dr. J.D. However, Braff is aching to get behind the camera again.
The star said: âI directed (2004 film) Garden State. Iâd like to direct more films and you canât do both. Itâs hard to be the lead in a TV show and also try to direct movies.â
Currently filming its 8th season, the show was due to be finished already according to Braff: âWe thought the show was over after 7 years and we all got this bonus year so weâre all very excited about that. We donât know if AMB is going to continue airing the show or not â it will all depend on this season.â
But although he is happy with the additional year, and season, B raff is definitely set to hang up his scrubs after the next one.
âI think 8 years is a great run. Iâm very thankful for it but there are so many other things Iâd like to do in my career and I think itâs time to move on.â
