Zach Braff is heading back to TV comedy Scrubs - just months after announcing his decision to quit the hit show.
The 34-year-old actor starred as Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian since the show's inception in 2001, but announced earlier this year (09) he was leaving at the end of the eighth season to pursue a career in directing.
But he's now decided to head back to the ward for six episodes in the forthcoming series to wrap up several storylines and hand over to a new cast line-up.
Braff shot to fame in the role of John 'JD Dorian' in the hit medical drama, which is now in it's eighth series.
The show has faced trouble over the last couple of seasons when NBC announced that they would not be reknewing the show at the end of the seventh series.
ABC bought the rights and the eighth series premiered in January on the channel.
Away from Scrubs the actor has found success on the big screen when he wrote, directed and starred in Garden State, which was nominated for the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
