Amelia Lily has been unveiled as the latest celebrity to support the ‘make mine Milk’ campaign and charity BeatBullying, launching a new competition for creative youngsters across the UK called ‘Find Your Voice’.

The competition invites budding poets and songwriters to pen a short piece based on the subject of beating bullying, or finding your voice.

The winning entry will be produced as a song performed by Amelia Lily, with the winner also given the chance to meet the star.

The initiative is the latest element of a partnership between ‘make mine Milk’, the celebrity milk moustache campaign which highlights that milk is packed full of healthy nutrients and contains less than 2% fat, and BeatBullying, the charity which works with children and young people across the UK to make bullying unacceptable.

Along with helping to judge the entries, meeting the winner and performing the winning song, Amelia Lily will become the latest in a long line of celebrities to pose with the famous milk moustache, following in the footsteps of stars including Rupert Grint, Kelly Rowland and Pixie Lott.

Amelia also stars in a powerful video, which can be viewed on YouTube, highlighting the seriousness of bullying and encouraging young people to enter the competition.

Speaking about the campaign, Amelia said: "School can be a hard time for lots of people, and I know from experience that it can be difficult to be yourself.

"That’s why I’m so happy to be launching this competition with ‘make mine Milk’ and BeatBullying; I hope that it will empower young people to get creative and speak out bullying is such a taboo subject so it’s great to be able to tackle that through ‘Find Your Voice’. I’m looking forward to seeing the entries and meeting the winner."

Sandy Wilkie, Chairman of the Milk Marketing Forum - which funds ‘make mine Milk’ - commented: "Milk is a vital part of any diet, but is especially important for teenage girls.

"Amelia Lily is a great role model for these girls - because she is strong-minded and not afraid to be herself, but also because she looks after herself and is fit and healthy.

"We’re really pleased to welcome her as the latest celebrity to support the ‘make mine Milk’ campaign."

Emma-Jane Cross, CEO and Founder of BeatBullying, says: "We’re really excited to be working with Amelia on the ‘Find Your Voice’ competition, which will hopefully encourage many young people to speak out about their experience of bullying.

"It’s always hugely inspiring to hear from creative young people who are passionate about beating bullying, so we’re looking forward to listening to the entries and hearing the winning track."

The closing date for the ‘Find Your Voice’ competition is 12pm on Thursday 18 April 2013. Young people can enter by visiting www.facebook.com/makeminemilk for more info, or by emailing [email protected].
