Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow's actress mom Blythe Danner are in talks to star in a new drama that marks Amanda Peet's debut as a playwright.

They came here, and they did a reading, and we're talking with them about it. We're all very excited about it

The Something's Gotta Give star has written The Commons of Pensacola, about a family struggling to make ends meet.

It is slated to debut in New York City later this year (13), and artistic producer Mandy Greenfield reveals the project is already attracting attention from Parker and Danner.

Greenfield tells the New York Times, "They came here, and they did a reading, and we're talking with them about it. We're all very excited about it".

A theater and premiere date has not yet been set, but Lynne Meadow has signed on to direct.

Parker and Danner have shared the stage once before - they co-starred in a 1995 Manhattan Theater Club production of Sylvia.
