The 32-year-old star has admitted he was considering leaving the film and television industry until he saw the 53-year-old actor in 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and felt it was the moment he "understood" why he had gone into acting in the first place.

When asked what convinced him to continue acting, he said: "It was 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. I'd grown up seeing Jim doing 'Ace Ventura', but his performance in ['Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'] truly transcended what I believed he was as an actor.

"I remember being so inspired. For the first time I really understood why I was on this path."

Without inspiration from Jim, Charlie may never have found himself starring in Netflix series 'Daredevil' and whilst he thoroughly enjoys playing the character, he admitted the physical transformation was a "tall order".

He added to the Spring 2015 issue of Men's FASHION magazine: "It was a tall order, because they were well aware that I was only 160 pounds. I've never eaten this much in my life!

"I've had to wolf down a huge amount of carbohydrates and protein and have seven meals a day - before and after doing so much heavy lifting."

The Spring issue of Men's FASHION magazine will be distributed with several newspapers: The National Post, Montreal Gazette, Vancouver Sun and will be available on April 13 2015.
