Téa Leoni, whose divorce from the 'Californication' star, 54, was finalised in August, admits she likes being single, but insists she still loves the actor and speaks to him almost daily.

She said: "On occasion, I want to throttle him. But in any real relationship with someone you love, that's true."

The former couple recently reunited to spend the festive period with their daughter, Madelaine West, 15, and son Kyd Miller, 12, in Turks and Caicos.

Asked about her current relationship status, she told More magazine that she is "divorced and liking it, thank you."

The 'Madam Secretary' actress, 48, has been linked to his co-star Tim Daly, 58, since December, but says she will "never speak again" about her love life for the sake of her children.

She added: "People tell me I've never really made it. They say, 'You don't have an Oscar.' There's not an accolade in Hollywood that could replace time with my kids. At this stage of my life, it's not about contentment. Or appealing to 20-year-olds. Or awards. It's about finding something more. As I tell my daughter, 'Hear your voice first.' "
