Nick Jonas Has 'Loosened Up'

Nick Jonas says he has "loosened up quite a bit" in recent years.

The 22-year-old singer - who is in a relationship with former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo - admits he was "way more guarded" about his personal life when he was younger and never smoked Marijuana with his brother Joe Jonas, 25, and their fellow Disney stars Demi Lovato, 22, and Miley Cyrus, 22, when they were teenagers.

Asked about his sibling's claims that he used to get high with their famous friends, the 'Jealous' hitmaker said: "Uh, I never smoked weed with any of my fellow Disney stars. I smoked weed elsewhere. But I was actually way more guarded back then. I wasn't partying too hard at 15, which is probably for the best. I've loosened up quite a bit since then. My Disney years feel like a long, long time ago."

Nick also admits he "probably hurt some people" by denying he ever dated them.

He told Rolling Stone: "We had a pretty huge female fan base, so we had to make a concerted effort to keep things private and say we didn't have girlfriends. I feel bad about it now. I probably hurt some people."

The heartthrob, who stripped down to his underwear for a photo-shoot last year, claims he is surprised by his new sex symbol status.

He said: "It just kind of happened, and now I have a lot of unexpected new fans.

"I don't know if I'd necessarily call myself a gay icon. But my goal in the last year was to expand and grow as a person and an artist, and embracing my gay fans was a priority. Some of my gay friends have thanked me for that, and that's a really good feeling."
