Stephen Fry has admitted to wasting an "enormous" amount of time and money on cocaine.

He also opened up about his other struggles alongside drug addiction - depression and bipolar disorder - in new autobiography 'More Fool Me'.

The Daily Mirror newspaper printed an extract from the book which reads: "I have been utterly candid about a period of my life in which I spent an enormous amount of time and money on cocaine powder.

"I know how stupid that is, but I know better people than me have found themselves on the same path."

The comedian has recently hinted that he recorded a cameo for American Dad, before joking he won't be satisfied as an actor until he gets to appear on Casualty.

Tweeting he commented: "That was fun - just played an @AmericanDadFOX character. My life is complete. Oh wait, I haven't been on @BBCCasualty yet."
