We think we might be onto something with these scented candle suggestions...

Anyone who loves KFC will love the smell of their gravy - and that’s why they have started selling a scented candle that replicates the smell that makes us salivate.

We’re not too sure how we feel about our whole house stinking of fast-food gravy. Despite it being a mouth-watering odour, it’s hardly the smell we associate with home. But it did get us thinking about other smells which might make for a novelty scented candle.

In light of all this (pardon the pun), here are some other smells which we’d like to see in a peculiar scented candle range.

Paper

If you don’t spend at least 5 minutes flicking through the pages of a new book, treating your sense of smell to the fresh scent of new paper before actually reading it, then you’re doing it wrong.

It’s an odd smell to have as a candle, but we think this could actually work...

Suggested name: Blank Pages

New socks

So you’ve owned a ‘fresh linen’ and a ‘cotton’ scented candle, but how about one specifically designed for the smell of freshly bought socks?

We might just be weird, but we love to give our socks a really good sniff before we wear or wash them. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Suggested name: Chaussettes Odeur

Shampoo

It’s more the smell of clean hair that we love, but using that as the inspiration title might come across slightly weird. So shampoo and other hair products is probably a better way to describe it.

Fresh, fruity and clean, we like the idea of a shampoo scented candle. Although, it may be headache-inducing after a while...

Suggested name: Des Bulles D'amour

Petrol

Some people love the smell of petrol. Whether they love it enough to have their front room smell like a gas station, though, is separate matter.

It would certainly make for an funny prank or a joke gift. We would definitely give it a go!

Suggested name: Pour L'amour de L’essence

Freshly cut grass

Ah the smell of freshly cut grass… Summer days and clean air spring to mind. How great would it be to put that smell in a candle?

We think it would make for a great pick-me-up during the winter months.

Suggested name: Vert Naturel: The Unique Fragrance

Freshly baked bread

The smell of freshly baked bread reminds us of our Grandma’s house.

Although we hold no objection to having the smell burning away in our living room, we don’t know if we’d be able to cope with the extreme amount of mouth-watering which would consequently take place.

Something tells us our diet would become very, very carby.

Suggested name: La Cuisine de Grand-mère: La Bougie

Bacon

Last but certainly not least, the greatest smell known to man. Bacon.

If we had a bacon candle in the bedroom and a bread candle in the living room, it’s a reasonable conclusion that we would be having the same thing for breakfast every morning.

Suggested name: Cochons Doux: L'odeur
