As Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, we wanted to have a look at some of our favourite on-screen couples who took their faux romances and turned them into something real. Unfortunately, not all of these love stories had a happy ending...

The most confusing romance in showbiz… EVER?

Rumours said that the pair started dating during filming for the Twilight series of films in 2008, but they never confirmed their relationship until 2011.

In July 2012 however, Stewart was caught out having had a ‘fling’ with director Rupert Sanders, which may be the reason her and Pattinson split that same year.

Not too long later there were rumours of them being back together and even thinking of moving to Cornwall. Pattinson allegedly ended things again in May 2013.

If you were a diehard Vampire Diaries fan like me then you had to have been rooting for these two! Though they're no longer together romantically, they still remain good friends.

The couple dated between 2010 and 2013 whilst filming The Vampire Diaries, but it took a long time before they actually admitted anything was going on, even though everyone suspected it! Dobrev recently spoke about the relationship and was asked by the interviewer if she thinks it’s weird that she’s still friends with Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed after they married two years after Nina and Ian had split.

Fortunately she put them in their place, and reaffirmed that they remain great pals to this day!

Possibly the cutest celebrity love story on our list!

They met filming That '70s Show in 1998 when Kunis was 14 and Kutcher was 19. The couple had an on-screen romance and that was where Kunis had her first kiss. Kutcher described their real friendship saying she was like his little sister.

In 2005 he left the show and married Demi Moore. Kunis had a relationship with Home Alone star Macauley Culkin but they split in 2011, a few months before Kutcher and Moore announced their divorce.

A year later they reconnected at the Golden Globes and they started dating not long after, quickly moving in together. They got engaged in 2014 and the same year Kunis announced she was pregnant. After the birth of their first child they got married in 2015 and a year later had baby number two!

You could say that she’s ‘gotta go her own way’...

Filming High School Musical really was the start of something new for Efron and Hudgens as they met in 2005 on set. A year later they started dating and spent the next four years filming sequels together and attending events, but eventually split in 2010. It was apparently a clean break up and one that had just ran its course after the pair struggled with their long-distance relationship.

Even the couples who seem the happiest don’t always last.

After meeting on the set of the film Step Up in 2006, this duo started dating and were often referred to as Hollywood’s power couple. Channing Tatum popped the question two years later and they wed in 2009 with a fairytale-themed wedding in Malibu.

The next six years were full of appearances and in 2012, Jenna Dewan announced she was pregnant. In 2016 they appeared on Lip Sync Battle together where Dewan performed her ICONIC version of the Magic Mike dance to the song Pony.

To everyone's surprise however, the couple announced their separation in 2018 after nine years of marriage.

My all-time favourite love story!

In 2009 the pair met filming The Last Song and not long after, pictures of them kissing emerged which sparked rumours of romance blooming.

A year later they were official and attended the Oscars together, but broke up in August 2010 which was said to be because of Miley Cyrus's busy work schedule. A month later they are seen together again in LA but again, split up two months later!

In 2011 they’re spotted together again and were apparently taking things slow. Cyrus denies rumours that they’re engaged, but in 2012 she told People that she’s happy to be engaged and looks forward to a life of happiness with Liam.

In early 2013 she’s accused of cheating with actor Ed Westwick, but denied it on Twitter. Despite that, rumours of a break-up started swirling... again! After months of no one really knowing what was happening with the couple, Cyrus releases Wrecking Ball and the world starts speculating that it's all about her on-off relationship.

Then there was THAT performance at the 2013 VMAs with Robin Thicke. Everyone knows the one; with the giant foam finger and a nude latex bikini. Cyrus then unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter and the engagement was officially called off.

A day later and Hemsworth is seen kissing model Eiza Gonzalez. Miley gives yet another performance of Wrecking Ball and breaks into tears during.

In 2014, Cyrus starts dating Patrick Schwarzenegger but they break up in 2015 after he is accused of cheating.

2016, Cyrus and Hemsworth are seen together for the first time in months in Australia and shortly after, she is wearing her engagement ring once more.

Miley releases Malibu in 2017 and tells Billboard her song is about Hemsworth. Sadly, their house was caught in the fires in 2018 and Miley said that she’s never loved her man more after he saved their four horses, two pigs, seven dogs and three cats from the fire.

Shortly after they got married in their home in Tennessee.

I take my earlier statement back. This is more confusing than Pattinson and Stewart.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Maybe the most shocking hollywood break up?

Brangelina met in 2004 on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith when Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston. They denied any dating rumours, but a few months later Brad and Jennifer announced their separation after five years of marriage. Aniston later filed for a divorce.

It didn’t take long for Brangelina to be spotted together, vacationing in Kenya before Jolie adopted Zahara from Ethiopia. They announced they were expecting their first child in 2006 and legally adopted Maddox and Zahara shortly after.

Pitt said in 2006 that he won’t marry Jolie until everyone else in the country who wants to marry is legally able.

A year later they adopted Pax from Vietnam and in 2008 they were expecting twins.

In 2009, Ian Halperin released a book about Brangelina and in it made shocking accusations, including that Pitt cheated on his lover.

In 2012, Jolie was wearing an engagement ring and a year later she revealed she was to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

The couple finally wed in 2014 in France and worked on their second film together, By The Sea.

In 2015, Jolie revealed she was going to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after blood tests showed signs of what could have been early signs of cancer.

The pair shocked the world in 2016 when Jolie filed for a divorce in August 2016 and requested primary custody of all six children.
